2021 Student Showcase

Calls for Entry are exhibitions that are structured similar to art competitions. Some will provide monetary prizes, art supplies, or awards and trophies. The juroring procedure varies per exhibition. However, one thing is certain, if you don't Submit Your Work, No One will see your art work.

The process is relatively simple. But here are some quick tips:

-Document your artwork. This typically requires even lighting to capture accurate details and color. See the videos below.

-Appropriate Images. Only have the Artwork as the image. No distracting backgrounds. Image sharpness is critical for judging your art work as well.

-Title your artwork. A title is another access point for your viewer to understand what you and your artwork are communicating. While "Untitled" can be a fine solution you should take some time to consider how that helps the viewer understand your intentions.

-Decide a price for your artwork. This will vary by process and discipline. Keep in mind, you are likely not an established artist. However, your time and knowledge need to be compensated. So be fair to yourself and to your perspective buyer.

-Decide on an insurance value or replacement value of your artwork. This should include your materials and time, in other words how much would it take to remake the artwork.

Below you will find the submission form for ECC's Student Art Exhibitions, a link to schedule a time to come and document your work professionally, and guidelines for documenting your own work at home.
