The Long Red Line
The Long Red Line is Elgin’s expression of One Billion Rising, a global movement of women and their allies rising to end rape, violence, interpersonal domination and oppression against women. To further raise awareness and honor survivors and community support, The Long Red Line is offering its 3rd juried art exhibition at Elgin Community College in the E. Max Von Isser Art Gallery located in Building B. This year’s juror, Erin Rehberg, Founder/Executive Director of Side Street Studio Arts, has selected 29 pieces of artwork from 23 artists, whom are ECC students, alumni, employees or community members, that best resembles the mission of the Long Red Line and this year’s theme of Rise. Empower. Unite. She will also select the following exhibit award winners, which will be announced via the One Billion Rising: The Long Red Line’s social media: Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place.
